A year-long trial of creating forms that pursue feeling over purpose. I meditate on the body as a vessel holding proof of growth while enduring phases of emptying, removal; an accumulation of absence.
Absence implies prior occupancy of something positive, negative or all else in-between. The sensation manifests as an ache, oddly familiar despite it’s subject. Sometimes the ache is liberation, revealing an unexpected need. Other times, oppressive – a piece lost of yourself, disconnection, subtraction of potential. I pursue the residue left from these experiences, conceiving of body as vessel to empty, to fill, providing space for both sensations of wholeness and absence.
